At 53rd place, Wageningen is the highest-ranking Dutch university in this ranking. The ‘Times Higher Education World Universities Ranking 2022’ is considered one of the world’s most influential university rankings. The makers evaluate universities according to five metrics: education (30 per cent), research publications and reputation (30 per cent), citations/impact (30 per cent), international outlook (7.5 per cent) and contract research (2.5 per cent). WUR’s overall score increased slightly, from 69.4 in 2020 to 70.1 this year.

Citaties

Last year, WUR dropped from place 59 to 62 in the ranking. WUR scored slightly lower on education and research than in the previous year but higher on citations. This year, the citation score is lower, but the scores for education, research and international have increased. The reputation score – how peers rate the university – in particular, has increased this year, says WUR information specialist Marleen Noomen.
