The construction was completed on Friday, 24 March. The first tenants moved in the very next day.

Tenants at the brand-new Costerweg complex got the keys to their rooms from Idealis on Saturday 25 March. Oscar Elizondo (26), a Master’s student in Biotechnology, was one of them. ‘As we couldn’t see the room before applying for it, we were all nervous and excited. When Dutch people move, their parents can help them move in and paint. For international students, it can be quite complicated. Luckily, my friends helped me out, and they made the moving process really gezellig.’

The new complex has room for 264 students. There are studios and twelve student houses with ten rooms each. Rooms that are vacated in the student houses in the future will be assigned through a new application model, explained in more detail here.
