Step closer to student rooms in centre

Idealis can proceed with the development of student accommodation at the Lawickse Hof in Wageningen. On 9 January, the municipal council voted in favour of the construction of a 21-metre high building for accommodation.

The height of the building was a sensitive issue for various parties in the council, in part because local residents had made objections. But councillor Michiel Uitdehaag said it was necessary if there was to be a feasible building plan for the site of the former Van der Kolk garage, which has been empty for years. Now that the council has given its approval, Idealis can enter into negotiations with the site’s owners: Roelofs & Haase and Bouwfonds Ontwikkeling. The student accommodation provider wants to build its offices here, with 150 student rooms above.
